ABOUT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been created by Tom Plumb over a period of some years, sometimes using the pen name "Earnest Seeker".  I use this pen name because all this material is not mine, but was written by the illustrious, but mostly forgotten authors of the past. All I do is to select the most helpful material, translate it, format it and upload it. I then provide a helpful context for it..

How did this all come about?  Well, there I was in 1969, a new high school teacher of Geography, but I had not been outside of North America.  I listened to friends describe their travels in Europe, but their account left me frustrated.  I did not want to find mere landscapes and museums -I wanted to find the LIFE and its meaning -if there was any.......  Spiritually, I hurt because I was so full of vaccuum.

So, I resigned my position and caught a ship one-way for Japan, simply because it was the opposite direction from Europe.  My various travels and adventures ended up taking seven years in Asia and the South Pacific. I found that the world was far larger and replete with possibility than I had ever imagined!!!

While living and surfing on the island of Bali (well before the tourist onslaught), I met an English-speaking Indonesian Yogic guru.  Now this guy really had something!  So, after some time he brought me through a specail spiritual initiation ceremony. After this, I advanced intuitively in the disciplines at warp speed, so that within a couple of years I was an adept but junior guru myself.  I meditated for hours every day and enjoyed a wonderfully enhanced state of conciousness.  I even healed people with "pranic healing".

Everything was going well, until I found myself in a situation not conducive to meditation. Then everything fell apart to reveal that my former spiritual vaccuum had expanded and become even more painful.

One evening in 1971, the Lord came to me and spoke in a gentle but powerful audible voice and said: -"MY NAME IS JESUS".  With this I was completely undone and was not able to speak for the next three weeks.

And so I set out to serve the Lord with my customary zeal.  And my expectation was to surpass my former "enhanced conciousness" since this was the real thing with the real God.

Well, that was a great motivator, but little did I know how complicated that simple expectation would be to bring into fruition over the years.  For the first months, I walked in a rosy honeymoon cloud of anointing.  Then it became more complicated.  And over the years, I gradually came to the terrible realization that nobody in the church world had the answers I was after.  How could I maintain that close and intimate relationship with Him that I had started with and expand it into a solid reality? Nobody knew.  All I was placed before me was "more of the same".

Over the years, I saw churches fall away under my feet.  I saw many friends backslide.  I saw Godly marriages dissolve.  I saw astonishing sin within church walls. Eastern mystical beliefs flourished there too!  There was no end to the deceptions. "Self help". The prosperity gospel. A revered and married elderly Anglican priest was revealed to be a homosexual!!!  A wonderful gospel singing group found its lead singer arrested for armed bank robbery.  I looked everywhere to find a church that had substance more solid than all this.  I failed.

And I kept failing until the Lord met me again in 1988.  (See my testimonial on the Testimonies page.) Even though I attended quite a variety of churches in my long career, the substantive holiness described on this website was never mentioned.  Staying out of trouble or having a good devotional life was about it.... The exceptional church might talk about "dedication", but as the opening page describes, that is not at all the same thing.  

This website was created upon the direct leading of the Lord in 2000 for two reasons:
1. So that I could learn through protracted independant study the "better gospel" which had purity in His Rest as its earthly goal.
2.  So that I could share my findings with fellow seekers of this better way.

With this leading I undertook a protracted web search in those days before Google, found reference to a CD that sounded like a possible source, and gambled the hefty price to see.  And the rest of the story is in front of you.
